The BiH Security Minister Selmo Cikotić met today in Sarajevo with Acting US Assistant Secretary of the Treasury Paul Ahern, who is visiting the region this week to learn about the threats that organized crime and corruption pose for the stability and prosperity of the Western Balkans.
The two officials discussed how the United States can help BiH fight organized crime and achieve strategic goals in the field of security and integration processes.
During the meeting, -they exchanged views on more effective sanctioning of criminal groups and related individuals.
In that light, the sanctions that the US Ministry of Finance recently imposed on certain companies and persons in the region due to destabilizing and corrupt behavior were also emphasized, stated the Ministry of Security of BiH.
