DNS President and State Minister of Security Nenad Nesic reacted to the comment of Denis Becirovic, a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), about the latest United States (U.S.) sanctions against officials from Republika Srpska (RS).
“If something eats away at the foundations of BiH, undermines the foundations of the Dayton Peace Agreement, destroys tissue, destroys mutual trust and reconciliation, it is the pathological hatred of Denis Becirovic for everything Serbian. If leftists are like that, rightists are good for us. In his sick fanaticism, Becirovic is unable to understand that sanctions are never a solution, that foreigners in this country have always produced problems, and that real solutions come only through internal agreement,” said Nesic, calling Becirovic’s comment gloating.
Becirovic called on the European Union (EU) to sanction the President of the RS, Milorad Dodik, to which Nesic said that this will not destroy the RS, but that it is precisely because of such calls that it is getting stronger.
“EU sanctions against the President of the RS will remain the dream of a small provincial politician, unfit for the position that befell him, and who for 17 years has lived comfortably spreading hatred within BiH. If he thinks that any sanctions against any individual can destroy the RS, he is seriously mistaken. The RS is the fruit of the will of the Serbian people and every day it is getting stronger, thanks, among other things, to the anti-Dayton appeals of Denis Becirovic,” Nesic added.
The DNS leader states that the RS has always been committed to the Dayton Peace Agreement and that it continuously insists on respecting it.
“On the other hand, narrow-minded politicians like Becirovic, by using the Constitutional Court of BiH, are trying to destroy Dayton and build BiH according to the Islamic Declaration of Alija Izetbegovic. It didn’t work for Izetbegovic, and it won’t work for him either. If the State Department combed through all the initiatives of Denis Becirovic, they would find collected works of anti-Dayton activities. After all, what kind of hypocrite do you have to be to swear in BiH, and then look forward to sanctions against the citizens of that same BiH? What kind of hypocrite do you have to be to talk about regional stability, and to be against the Consulate of Serbia in Bijeljina, which should facilitate access to consular services and citizens of BiH, and at the same time, this same Serbia opened the consulate of BiH in Novi Pazar without hesitation,” asked Nesic, Klix.ba reports.
