BiH Security Minister praised Agencies for Preventing a Terrorist Act

BiH Security Minister Nenad Nešić acknowledges the members of law enforcement agencies regarding the information about the arrest of Mirza Kapić, who is linked to terrorist activities and suspected of contacting the radical structures of ISIL and planning a terrorist attack on an Islamic religious object and Islamic scholars.

Nešić praised those agencies for their timely action and prevention of a serious terrorist act, the consequences of which would be unfathomable.

“At the same time, I am worried because after a long lull in Bosnia and Herzegovina, ‘sleepers’ connected to international terrorist organizations are waking up again. That is why, so that we can all act together preventively and take adequate actions and measures, I have requested that they provide me as soon as possible with the information they have, which relate to the state of the fight against terrorism and the existence and activities of persons of security interest connected to international terrorist organizations and dangers for our society. Preventing terrorist activities is the responsibility of the entire security sector – says Nešić.

The Minister of Security points out that he hopes that the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina will investigate the criminal offense to the end and that everyone involved, wherever they are, will be brought to justice.

“Against such criminal acts, the state must act both preventively and repressively, because none of us wants to see repeated attacks on police stations or, God forbid, attacks similar to those that happened in Europe and the world. This first spark must be a signal for us to prevent a bigger fire,” said Nešić, the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
