europolAfter several months of negotiating and harmonizing of all levels in BiH, BiH will finally sign the agreement with EUROPOL today.

This agreement is an important step towards connecting BiH with European intelligence and security agencies, especially when it comes to fight against terrorism and serious crime.

Minister of Security of BIH Dragan Mektić confirmed the information on today’s signing of the agreement with EUROPOL.

The agreement will enable exchange of operational data between BiH and police agencies of member countries of EUROPOL, including personal information about suspects.

BiH was the only country in the region that did not sign the agreement with EUROPOL. The agreement was supposed to be signed in February this year, but the signing was postponed due to nonexistence of consensus on a unique contact address with EUROPOL, which will now be the Ministry of Security of BiH.

Official signing of the agreement and a press conference will be held at 9:30 at the premises of the Council of Ministers of BiH.
