agreementStatements on understanding and cooperation in the field of health and education between the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH, the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic were signed by Deputy Minister of Civil Affairs of BiH Djordje Milicevic and the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to BiH, Jan Psenica.

“By signing the statements of understanding and cooperation, the two countries BiH, which has applied for membership in the EU, and the Slovak Republic, the member of the EU, expressed their desire to further develop and deepen their cooperation in the areas of health and education. We want to encourage cooperation between the competent health and education authorities in BiH and the Republic of Slovakia, and regarding the implementation of the Directive of the European Parliament and the Council on the recognition of professional qualifications,” said Deputy Minister of Civil Affairs, Djordje Milicevic.

The Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to BiH, Jan Psenica said that the signed document is an indicator of support that Slovakia provides to BiH on its way to the EU.

With the signed statement, mutual contacts of institutions responsible for education and health in BiH and Slovakia and individuals in occupations regulated by the Directive will be encouraged, namely: doctor, nurse, dentist, veterinary, midwife, pharmacist and architect, as well as exchange of experiences in terms of regulations on regulated professions in the field of education and their application. BiH and the Republic of Slovakia will support the exchange of professionals in these occupations that are financed by the support of their participation in conferences, symposia, as well as exchange of teachers and students.

Statement of understanding and cooperation between the relevant ministries of health and education of BiH and the Slovak Republic is giving an additional value to the Twinning project: “Strengthening of institutions and capacities to implement the Directive of EU on regulated professions”, which was conducted in the period May 2014 – September 2015, and which is funded from IPA 2011.

The aforementioned project has been implemented by the Ministry of Civil Affairs (Department of Health and Department for Education), in cooperation with relevant institutions of BiH, entities, cantons and Brcko District, and Regional Agencies for Development “Senec-Pezinok” from the Slovak Republic.
