With a convincing victory in Valencia, the BiH women’s basketball team secured a place in the qualifying tournament for the World Cup, which will be held in February next year.
Mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karic, congratulated the basketball players on this success on behalf of the citizens of Sarajevo and thanked them for making them proud.
The team’s manager Razija Mujanovic said that this is the first great success of this national team, but that it will not be the last, because their strength is in togetherness and a good atmosphere.

BiH basketball players were supposed to found out the final ranking after the match between Spain and Russia (which was held yesterday at 3 p.m.). Since Russia won, our basketball players took fifth place.
Our selection has secured a place in the qualifications for the World Cup, which will be held from September 22nd to October 1st, 2022 in Australia.
In the qualifications that will be played in February 2022, 16 national teams that took the best placements at the continental championships will participate. The six best teams from Europe, the four best from the United States (U.S.), the four best from Asia, and the two best from Africa will play.
