New detention unit at the Bihać Police Station. The project was financed by the Government of the Una-Sana Canton with 270,000 BAM, and was implemented with the support of the Council of Europe.

The new premises are expected to contribute to more efficient police work.

“We have completed this project, which will be of great benefit to police officers in carrying out their daily work. Until now, we have had difficult working conditions for police officers, who, when detaining a person, have to monitor him all night and day, and that was very difficult for them,” says Adnan Habibija, Minister of the Interior of the Una-Sana Canton.

Within the new facility, attention has been paid to modern technical solutions and standards that apply in European Union countries.

“The premises are built according to European standards, have underfloor heating, are all ventilated, each room has a separate toilet, are equipped with video surveillance, panic alarms. They do not differ in any element from the premises in modern countries, that is, EU countries,” points out Amel Kozlica, director of the Una-Sana Canton Police Directorate.

Promised to be fulfilled. The Una-Sana Canton Police Directorate is strengthening its capacities in order to fight corruption and crime more effectively.
