Delegation of Bihać Municipality, headed by the advisor to Mayor of Bihać Smail Toromanić, met with the first secretary and the Chief of Department for Economy Cooperation of the Embassy of Japan in BiH Yosakio Makino, and with the coordinator of GAGP project Junko Sato.

During the meeting they talked about the projects financed by the Japanese Government which are currently being implemented and about the future cooperation.

The Government of Japan has been supporting the development of Bihać since 1997, with special emphasis on the return of refugees.

In the last year two projects have been realized; the purchase of two ambulance cars for the Clinic in Bihać and demining of seven locations of returnee settlements.

”We are satisfied with the cooperation with Bihać municipality, and we are especially content that Bihać will continue the successful cooperation with our Embassy’’, said Makino.

”Thanks to Japanese Development Agency, Bihać is now implementing a project that aims to develop fruit production and goat breeding in this area, worth around 3-4 million BAM”, said Toromanović.

According to him, Bihać will ensure the space for the Office of Japanese Development Agency in Bihać in order to improve the cooperation and ensure new money for demining, and especially for demining of the National Park Una, which is of strategic importance for Bihać.
