Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a Decision on the dismissal of Perica Stanic, Director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SIPA), on December 4th, after being informed from the Ministry of Security on the termination of the mandate of the Director.

Pursuant to Article 10, Paragraph (1) of the Law on the State Agency for Investigation and Protection of the Duties and Responsibilities of the Director, Deputy Djuro Knezevic will perform duties until the appointment of a new director.

Earlier, in spite of frequent statements of Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic and certain analysts that the number of extremist community is growing in BiH, the security forces of BiH noted that our country, just as any other country in the world, is exposed to a possibility of terrorist attack.

“Based on the information available to the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), we cannot say that BiH is a hotbed of Islamic extremism,” said Stanic.

He emphasized that SIPA have capacities within their statutory jurisdiction, to independently or in cooperation with the relevant prosecutors and other law enforcement bodies, undertake all necessary measures and actions that are aimed at combating all forms of extremism, radicalism and terrorism, as well as to document criminal offenses that are result of these forms of socially negative behavior.

“BiH is exposed to the possibility of a terrorist attack equally as every other country in the world, due to the fact that it is a member of the global coalition against ISIS and the results that in the previous period, as the country, achieved in the fight against extremism, radicalism, and terrorism, both domestically as well as globally,” said Stanic.

To recall, Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic repeatedly stated that thousands of soldiers who fought on the side of a terrorist organization ISIS are returning in BiH.

Many BH politicians condemned the statements of Grabar-Kitarevic, adding that she is manipulating with data, considering that in accordance with previous data on the battlefields in Syria and Iraq were 120 citizens of BiH.
