BiH’s Police found and seized 113 Kilograms of Cut Tobacco aimed for Illicit Trafficking

Police found 113 kilograms of cut tobacco in Kotorsko, near Doboj, aimed for illicit trafficking.

Tobacco was found on Thursday afternoon while controlling a Mercedes brand passenger car driven by M.P., living in the Samac municipality, the Doboj Police Directorate announced on Friday.

The Prosecutor General of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH was informed about all this, which stated that the said item had the characteristic of the criminal offense of Illicit Traffic in Excise Products.

A record seizure of tobacco happened on 9 June 2019, when members of Border Police of BiH prevented smuggling of 700 packs of Marlboro cigarettes with BiH excise stamps, upon exiting BiH at International Border Crossing Point Velika Kladuša.

Cigarettes were discovered on the second line of border checks during control of a Toyota with Slovenian registration plates. A detailed inspection of the vehicle, in which the cigarettes were hidden, was carried out by police officers using an endoscope (a device that allows an optical view of the difficult-to-access interior of the vehicle) that BP BiH was donated under the UNDP CIAT Project, under the auspices of the German Federal Police. The vehicle was operated by H.T.(born in 1992), a citizen of BiH who was apprehended, and a report against him on the committed criminal offence of ‘Smuggling’, will be submitted to the BiH Prosecutor’s Office. Cigarettes have been temporarily seized.

On 9 June 2019, officers of Border Police Unit Gradiška detected a forged personal ID card of the Republic of Italy, during border control of an Albanian national upon exiting BiH at BCP Gradiška. He was controlled in an Audi with Italian registration plates. The District Public Prosecutor’s Office in Banja Luka will be submitted a report against the Albanian national on the criminal offence of ‘Forgery of a document’. He was handed over to members of Service for Foreigners Affairs of BiH, and the forged document has been temporarily seized.

On 9 June 2019, officers of BPU Zvornik apprehended Z.G. (born in 1974), a citizen of BiH. It was found by border checks that he was wanted by the BiH Court for criminal offence of ‘People smuggling’. He was controlled upon exiting BiH at BCP Šepak, and was handed over to officers of the Court Police of the BiH Court. On the same day, M.H. (born in 1946) was apprehended upon exiting BiH at BCP Rača, having been found wanted by Basic Court in Derventa for serving imprisonment. Officers of BPU Bijeljina handed the BiH citizen over to officers of Court Police Bijeljina.

On 8 June 2019, officers of BPU Gorica apprehended P.R. (born in 1944), because it was found that he was wanted by Police Administration Konjic for criminal offence of ‘Forgery of a document’. He was controlled upon entering BiH at BCP Gorica, and was handed over to the officers of the PA
