The ninth edition of the Imlek Impact Sarajevo Cener, scheduled for July 12th, once again brings a signature story that transcends the race itself. The official blue-and-white and maroon-and-white t-shirts, along with a two-sided medal featuring the colors of Sarajevo’s biggest football clubs; symbolically represent the idea that sport has the power to connect people, regardless of differences and rivalries.

Once again this year, when picking up their race packs, runners will be able to choose whether they want to run in a blue-and-white or a maroon-and-white t-shirt, while the medal will remain a lasting keepsake of the race and the message it carries. The route of the Sarajevo Cener, which passes through the Grbavica and Koševo stadiums, with the start and finish lines located in front of the Zetra Olympic Arena, further connects the capital’s most significant sporting landmarks.

“The Sarajevo Cener has long been more than just a sporting event. Every year, we want it to tell a story about our city, its people, and the values we share. The blue and maroon colors remind us that rivalries can remain in the stands, while sport gathers us at the same starting line. That is precisely why we believe this race sends an important message of unity, respect, and mutual support,” said Elvedin Tunović, Executive Director of the Marathon Sarajevo Association.

He extended a special thanks to FK Sarajevo, FK Željezničar, and the Center for Sports and Recreation for supporting this year’s edition of the race and for their partnership in making the event a reality.

The organizers emphasize that, year after year, the Sarajevo Cener confirms that sport can be much more than a competition,a platform for promoting healthy lifestyle habits, social responsibility, and positive values that leave a mark long after crossing the finish line.

This year’s edition of the Imlek Impact Sarajevo Cener also holds special international significance, as the official race route has received an AIMS certificate, placing it among internationally recognized city street races. Alongside the athletic segment, the Sarajevo Cener will once again be an event for the whole family, with a concert and entertainment program awaiting all visitors in front of the Zetra Olympic Arena, creating a unique atmosphere where sports, entertainment, and unity meet in one place.

The realization of this year’s Imlek Impact Sarajevo Cener was supported by Powerade, Olimpija, Klas, and Mak Zara, along with numerous partners who recognize the importance of promoting a healthy lifestyle, recreation, and sport in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The race organizer, the Marathon Sarajevo Association, has been promoting recreational running, healthy living, and urban tourism for nearly two decades through events such as the Sarajevo Half Marathon, Run Fest Sarajevo, and the Sarajevo Running Club. Through its activities, the Association places a special emphasis on social responsibility through humanitarian work, actively contributing to the development of a sports culture and positive energy within the community.
