Sarajevo New Stadium klix.baThe Sarajevo Municipality of Stari Grad should soon get a sports stadium which would be located in Faletići. The beginning of construction is planned in this year.

The Mayor Ibrahim Hadžibajrić ordered the relevant services to gather the necessary project documentation as soon as possible and launch the procedure of choosing the most favorable contractor. In order to launch this procedure, it is necessary to secure the implementation project which is in the final stage. If everything goes according to the plan, the construction of the sports field shall begin in spring.

“The first stage of the project, including the construction of a sports field/stadium with two locker rooms and the construction of an access road, will be implemented this year. Research conducted for the purposes of making a Strategy for youth of the Municipality of Stari Grad 2012-2017 has shown that one of the biggest issues when it comes to sports activities is insufficient number of sports courts and the lack of sports fittings at the existing courts in Stari Grad,” the Municipality Stari Grad stated.

Investor of the project is the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo and the value of the investment will be known upon the completion of implementation project. The contractor will be known after the tender procedure.

The project envisages the stadium with a length of 110 meters and width of 60 meters. The stadium will have 3,500 seats of which 250 will be roofed and marked as VIP seats. There will also be a joint plateau with four gates, while the official entrance for VIP visitors will be separated. Accompanying rooms which include locker rooms for athletes and recreationists, storage rooms, rooms for referees and delegates etc. will be on the west side.
Length of the stadium with extensions will be 116 meters and width 66 meters.
