The Brčko District Government approved an additional 11 million KM for agricultural incentives.
An additional 11 million KM was made available after the rebalancing of the budget for farmers.
Head of department Amir Softić said at the press conference that the total budget for incentives this year will amount to 22.9 million KM, which is the largest amount that the district has so far allocated for this purpose.
According to him, nearly five million KM will be remitted to farmers in the next seven days.
“The payment of incentives according to the requests from this year was at a standstill for the past month and a half due to the expenditure of the originally planned funds. With the adoption of this decision, we will continue the payments according to the signed contracts from tomorrow,” said Softić.
Softić emphasized that around 2,400 requests for incentives were received this year, and that by the end of the calendar year, all processed and approved requests will be fully paid.
He explained that out of this year’s total budget of 22.9 million KM, 21.4 million KM refers to requests from 2026, since 1.5 million KM of the debt carried over from the previous year was paid at the beginning of the year.
Softić said that the district will not enter the next year with debts to agricultural producers.
