Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) are acting on a request from the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, investigating reports of explosive devices planted in various buildings within Sarajevo Canton. The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina have heightened security in their military facilities following a threatening tip-off received yesterday at 3 p.m.
According to Klix.ba, the checks are primarily focused on a report about a bomb allegedly planted in the premises of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. SIPA, in coordination with police authorities, the Armed Forces, the Intelligence and Security Agency, NATO, the FBI, and Europol, has been tasked with investigating the threat.
SIPA officers, under the orders of the Prosecutor’s Office, are conducting field investigations aimed at tracing the sender’s IP address. Once the fieldwork is complete, and more information is gathered, the Prosecutor’s Office will determine the next steps.
This development has caused heightened tensions in the region, as authorities work to secure key sites and investigate the source of the threat.
