The information appeared claiming that border crossings with the Republic of Croatia were closed due to the coronavirus situation, but the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina denied the information.

“The borders are not closed. It seems that the citizens were confused by yesterday’s decision of the Republic of Croatia that all our citizens, upon entering Croatia, must stay in self-isolation for 14 days if they intend to stay there. Obviously, this caused confusion in public, but it should be said that the borders were not closed,”was stated to Fena news agency by the Bosnian Border Police spokeswoman Franka Vican.

She added that the situation is changing and that citizens will be promptly informed if there are new changes in the international traffic regime.

Vican also addressed the situation with migrants, saying they were still trying to enter Bosnia and Herzegovina. “Bosnian Border Police officers daily divert migrants from crossing the state border illegally, and we have about fifty detained migrants a day. According to our information, the situation is on the Greek-Turkish border is stable and there is no intensive influx of migrants to Europe, so the situation is relatively good here as well,” Vican added.
