The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, condemned the killing of Palestinian civilians in the northern Gaza Strip after an Israeli military strike killed at least 100 Palestinians in the Beit Lahia area.
“The images from Beit Lahia in Gaza are horrifying. At least 100 people have been killed in yet another IDF strike. We will not stop condemning this and calling for accountability,” Borrell said.
His comments came after the Gaza Health Ministry said more than 100 Palestinians were killed and dozens injured in an Israeli strike on a residential building in the town of Beit Lahia yesterday.
More than 43,000 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip since Israel began the war on October 7, 2023, with most of the dead being women and children, while more than 101,000 people have been injured, according to local health authorities.
Israel has been accused of genocide against Palestinians before the International Court of Justice.
