The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday adopted information from the Bosnian Ministry of Civil Affairs on the intention of pharmaceutical companies to donate Hydroxycloroquine Sulphate to the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vijesti.ba news portal reports.
In this regard, the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and SANDOZ (Lek Pharmaceuticals dd, a Sandoz company) have signed a Grant Agreement to donate 22,800 Hydroxychloroquine Sulphate tablets to Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has proven to be one of the most effective medicines in the treatment of Covid -19 infectious diseases.
The signing of the Agreement was preceded by the stated needs of all relevant health institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the decisions on the authorization for the import and use of medicines and medical devices of humanitarian character in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
These needs were provided by the Federal Ministries of Health, the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of the Republika Srpska, and the Department of Health and Other Services of the Brcko District of BiH.
As part of the European Union public procurement agreement for medicinal products, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in addition to Remdesivir, Kaletra and Interferon, also expressed the need for Hydroxychloroquin in the European Commission, so that Lek Pharmaceuticals d.d. extremely important for all relevant health institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
