Bosnia-Herzegovina’s Joint Armed Forces Delegation in Visit to NATO HQ in Brussels

Bosnia-Herzegovina’s Joint Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Senad Masovic participated in a meeting of the NATO Military Committee at the Chief of Staff level held at NATO Headquarters in Brussels on January 14th, the BiH Ministry of Defense said.

The BiH Armed Forces delegation also included Head of the Military Section of the Mission of BiH to NATO, Brigadier Jasmin Cajic, Head of the Office of the Chief of the AFBiH Armed Forces, Brigadier Edin Fako, Deputy Chief of the Military Section of the Mission of BiH to NATO, Brigadier Velibor Purkovic and Staff Officer in the Military Section of the Mission. BiH at NATO Major Zvonimir Duvnjak.

During the meeting, they discussed the current security and political situation in Afghanistan and the implementation of tasks in the new circumstances that characterize the post-election process, the conduct of peace negotiations and growing tensions in the region.

On that occasion, the Chiefs of Staff exchanged opinions and views with suggestions for future activities.  General Masovic had brief meetings with the chiefs of staff of the armed forces of the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Croatia and Georgia.

In addition to attending the meeting, General Masovic visited BiH’s Military Mission to NATO, where he met with the newly appointed Head of Mission of BiH to NATO in Brussels, Ambassador Mitar Kujundzic.

During the meetings in the Military Section of the BiH Mission to NATO, General Masovic was briefed by Brigadier Cajic on the current and future activities of the BiH Military Mission to NATO, with special reference to possible future cooperation with the European Defense Agency – EDA.
