The legendary British musician and philanthropist Yusuf, formerly known as Yusuf Islam or Cat Stevens, mentioned Bosnia and Herzegovina on his Twitter profile in a very positive sense.
The famous singer and musician who plays several instruments wrote: “While much of the world is turning into ruins, I learnt from Bosnia when everything is destroyed you can still sing”. In addition to this, he published his earlier message: “If you want to sing out, sing out. If you want to be free, be free”.
Yusuf sang in Sarajevo in 1997 at a charity concert, and he recently recorded an instrumental in memory of the victims of the genocide in Sarajevo.
“Words are not needed here; the music writes the real story. Everyone who saw and heard something about Srebrenica, must do something,” Yusuf Islam said on that occasion.
