Bosniak political representatives from the region, who responded to the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the leader of People and Justice party Elmedin Konaković to attend the regional gathering of Bosniak representatives, arrived in Sarajevo and walked around Baščaršija.
Representatives from Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Croatia and Kosovo came to the meeting from the region.
“We will hold a meeting so that the idea, which is more important than me and each individual, will continue on its way, so I will not comment on those who refused to come,” said Konaković.
He added that representatives of the strongest parties in the region had arrived in Sarajevo.
“There is Usame Zukorilić, the president of the SPP, the strongest party in Sandžak, until recently the vice president of the Serbian Assembly, Ervin Ibrahimović, the president of the Bosniak Party from Montenegro, the strongest in that country, which has six mandates in the parliament, Emilija Redžepi, the vice president in Kosovo, Munir Kolašinac from North Macedonia, there is a representative of the Bosniak group in Croatia, which for the first time together with one candidate went to the elections,” said Konaković.
As he announced, the topics of the meeting will be the current political situation, the position of Bosniaks in the region and EU integration.
From BiH, representatives of the strongest Bosniak parties, such as the Democratic Action Party (SDA), did not respond to Konaković’s invitation, nor did the chairman of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović (SDP), who responded to the invitation by saying that we should not build ethnic relations, but interstate relations, Fena news agency writes.
