Djenana Vejzovic, originally from Srebrenica, received the award for the best scientific paper for the year 2022 in Austria.

The Chamber of Commerce of Styria awarded Vejzovic for the best scientific paper produced by a young person for the past year.

Vejzovic studied chemistry and obtained a master’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biomedicine at Karl-Franzens University in Graz.

While a student, she was a teaching assistant at the university which propelled her to high achievements, including awards and publications.

As announced by Edhem Custovic, a Tuzla citizen who lives in Melbourne where he works at the renowned La Trobe University, the goal of this funding for young researchers is to promote the exchange of knowledge between universities and industry.

”In addition, this program also serves to ensure that more economically relevant topics find their way into scientific work. There were more than 100 applications, and the prizes were awarded by an expert jury of ten members,” Custovic announced on Facebook.

Moreover, Djenana Vejzovic works at the Medical University in Graz as a scientific researcher.
