Bosnian Economic Expert Nikola Grabovac died

Nikola Grabovac, Bosnian economic expert, and former Federal minister of finance and trade and former professor at the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo, died on Thursday after a serious illness.

Grabovac was born in 1943 in Bugojno, where he graduated from the secondary school of economics,a nd later graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb in 1965 and received his master’s degree from the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo in 1976, where he also received his doctorate in 1988.

He taught at the Faculty of Economics, the University of Sarajevo as a fulltime professor and also held the position of Rector at the Open University APEIRON in Travnik and Rector of Vitez Travnik University.

He served as Minister of Trade in the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (1995-1997), Minister of Finance, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a member of the Council of Ministers of BiH (2001-2002).
