Bosnian is one of the 10 Strongest Men in Sweden?

ambeskovicBH strongman, Nedzmin Ambeskovic, is preparing for the finals of the competition “The Strongest Man in Sweden 2016”, which will be held on the 27th of August , after which the first and second placed will have the opportunity to compete for the “World’s Strongest Man”.

His first contact with strongmen was 5 years ago in Sarajevo, and he was introduced in this world by Adin Arnaut, active BH competitor in this sport, whom he met via the owner of the gym “Fitness Universe” in Sarajevo, Jasmin Hajdarevic, who was also competing for Denmark.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina at the time, recalled Ambeskovic, no one knew about this sport, these were the things that we were only watching on “Eurosport”.

“Hajdarevic was the first to bring this in BiH, and some of us wanted to try. Most of them quickly gave up, and only three of us were persistent and started competing,” he said, adding that strongmen are little more popular in BiH now and that there are two active competitors in Sarajevo.

“The reason why there are only few competitors in this sport,” he says, “is that it requires a huge physical effort and strength, so that after a few trainings, many people just give up.”

“These are enormously large weights, we are pulling the trucks of 20-35 tones, and then there is the deadlift where the current world record is 500 kg. I have lifted 400 kg, while the Swedish record is 420 kg, so I achieved a very good result,” stated Ambeskovic.

“As much as the strength is important, technique is equally important, and it have to be perfect,” emphasized Ambeskovic.

So far, he participated on two competitions for qualification for the “Strongest Man in Sweden”. He did not qualify for the finals on the first competition, when he was 7th among 20 competitors, and on the second competition he won the third place, which enabled him to reach the finals.

When it comes to future plans, he said that he already achieved his goal for this year. It was the finals for the “Strongest Man in Sweden”, and he is usually the youngest competitor there. However, he says, he will try to win the first or second place in order to participate in the competition for the “World’s Strongest Man” in Las Vegas, where he will meet with 10 strongest men in the world.

For all those who want to try their strength in this extremely demanding sport, he said that, first of all, it requires enormous power of will and persistence, and then the physical strength.

Every man, said Ambeskovic, wanted to be the strongest once, and he “greatly achieved his desires and ambitions”.
