Bosnian Wand Airlines to Launch Services from Sarajevo to Athens

wandNew start-up Bosnian Wand Airlines (BWA) is set to inaugurate flights, with services from Sarajevo to be introduced on Friday, January 9. The airline will launch with a leased Airbus A321, operating from Stockholm to Erbil in Iraq via Gothenburg. BWA, set up by the Al Wand group from Iraq, will fly from Sarajevo to Amsterdam this Friday morning, followed by an afternoon service to Stockholm via Gothenburg.

Furthermore, BWA will launch services from Sarajevo to Athens this Sunday. The airline’s A321 will touch down in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s capital as early as tomorrow, arriving from Athens, when a special media event will be hosted by the airline. All flights from Sarajevo will operate once per week during the 2014/15 winter season. Besides services from Bosnia and Herzegovina, BWA will operate flights from Baghdad, Erbil, Al Najaf and Sulaimaniyah in Iraq and Beirut in Lebanon to Stockholm and Gothenburg, as well as services from Athens to the Swedish capital. The airline has said it plans to introduce services from Sarajevo to Frankfurt in the near future.
