Bosnians and Herzegovinians who will vote in the upcoming elections in the United States and are currently living in St. Louis, are concerned about rhetoric of Republican candidate Donald Trump and his pre-election threats that he will stop all Muslims who wish to enter the United States, as reported by US media.
Ibro Tucakovic, an insurance agent who lives in St. Louis, said that Trump provokes different reactions among the citizens of BH origin.
“Some of them are afraid of him, some are angry, and some are confused. Particularly concerned is the older generation of Bosnians who live here, because they heard such hate speech before. They experienced it in BiH, since the same hate speech was directed towards their families,” said Tucakovic for Pri.org.
This portal states that US citizens originally from BiH and Kosovo will mainly vote for Hillary Clinton. This is a very large number of people giving the fact that it is estimated that around 70,000 persons originating from these two countries live only in St. Louis.
“BH community in the United States will play a major role in this election, especially in Missouri,” said Akif Cogo.
Some US citizens who are originally from BiH are concerned about the appearance of certain radicals on Trump’s campaign events. People wearing hats with the words “Re-create the great Serbia” have been notices. Some time ago, Vojislav Seselj also called on Serbs in the US to vote for Trump, as stated by Pri.org.
“When I saw that Seselj is marching through Belgrade again I could not believe it. What is even more concerning is the fact that many people are actually supporting him. Those kind of people are dangerous,” said Ibro Tucakovic.
