Almedin Brkić vijesti.baThe six-year-old Almedin Brkić became a YouTube sensation. His video records nearly seven million views and many people call him the new Lionel Messi.

In war year 1994, the Brkić family moved from Prijedor to Canada. Hence, Almedin was born in Ottawa, and he also has an older brother. Almedin became interested in playing football after watching his brother.

“I have another son, Muamer. He is older and he began training with Zijo Ništović, who played in Velež and worked in some clubs in former Yugoslavia. Almedin once came to watch them. He asked to come in, but Zijo was reluctant to let him in because he was afraid that the older boys will hurt him,” said Almedin’s father, Nedžad, adding:

“We have let him in, to my responsibility. Something incredible happened. I could not believe how he plays, how he sees things and how he behaves on the field. He cannot even dribble the ball much, but he always has a solution when he is on the field. He is already known here in Ottawa”.

Nedžad wanted to record his son Almedin while playing in order to get opinions of other people, but very soon his son became an internet sensation and his video was watched nearly seven million times.
