President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) Lidija Bradara met in Zagreb with Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenkovic, and during the meeting, they discussed current political, economic, and security issues of common interest to BiH, the FBiH, and the Republic of Croatia.
At the centre of the talks was the further development of good-neighbourly relations and the strengthening of political stability and the functionality of institutions, with particular emphasis on the European path of BiH and the role of the FBiH as a key factor of stability and development of the state. The interlocutors highlighted the importance of continuous political dialogue and a partnership-based relationship, founded on mutual respect, respect for sovereignty, and valid bilateral cooperation agreements, the Office of the President of the FBiH announced.
Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenkovic emphasised the strong support of the Republic of Croatia for BiH, particularly in the context of preserving political stability, the European perspective, and strengthening the functionality of institutions. On that occasion, he presented the current activities and priorities of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, with an emphasis on economic development, infrastructure projects, energy security, and regional connectivity, stressing that the Republic of Croatia remains a reliable partner to BiH and the FBiH in the implementation of reform and development processes.
President Bradara stressed that the FBiH, through the work of the current Government and a stable parliamentary majority, is striving to respond to complex internal and external challenges, ensure political stability, and create preconditions for economic growth and attracting investments. In that context, the importance of adopting key decisions was highlighted, including the adoption of the Budget of the FBiH, as the foundation for the implementation of reform and development policies.
Challenges in the area of investments were also discussed, with particular emphasis on the issue of legal and institutional security. The interlocutors referred to the effects of the Law on the Temporary Prohibition of Disposal of State Property, which in practice represents one of the key challenges for the implementation of major infrastructure and energy projects. The need to continue institutional dialogue and seek solutions that will enable a more stable and predictable investment environment was emphasised, with full respect for the constitutional and legal order of BiH.
Special attention was also devoted to energy issues, including current challenges related to the Terminal in Ploce, which represents an important logistical and energy capacity for the FBiH. Discussions focused on the need to ensure a stable and predictable framework for operations, its role in the security of energy supply, as well as broader energy challenges, including the diversification of supply sources and the strengthening of energy security.
The interlocutors agreed that open communication, mutual trust, and strong institutional cooperation are key to effectively addressing challenges, strengthening economic relations, and further improving the partnership between the FBiH, BiH, and the Republic of Croatia, the Office of the President of the FBiH Lidija Bradara announced.
The delegation of the FBiH, led by President Bradara, included Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the FBiH and Minister of Finance Toni Kraljevic, Federal Minister of Transport and Communications Andrijana Katic, and Federal Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Vedran Lakic.
