The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković spoke today with the Secretary-General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Majlinda Bregu about the current political situation in BiH, our country’s path towards the EU, regional cooperation and the main area of activities of the RCC.

Konaković pointed out that regional cooperation is one of the key priorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s foreign policy, and that the RCC, as an operational body of the Southeast European Cooperation Process (SEECP), contributes significantly to many aspects of improving regional cooperation.

He welcomed the signing of the Roaming-Free Western Balkans Agreement, which has been in force since 2021, as well as the regional mobility agreements at the Berlin Process summit in November last year.

Secretary-General Bregu expressed hope that the countries of the Western Balkans will as soon as possible finish the process of ratifying the signed agreements that enable travel with an identity card in the region and mutual recognition of university diplomas and professional qualifications.

She emphasized that the regional agreements, together with their implementation, represent a positive step towards the implementation of the Common Regional Market (CRM) Action Plan, but also the preparation of the Western Balkans for the EU single market, stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH.
