European Union Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi said that Brussels is ready to speed up the integration process of the Balkan region.
“After the Summit in Tirana 2022, the leaders of the Western Balkans and the EU are meeting in Brussels. As the European Commission – we are ready to speed up and integrate the six from the Western Balkans faster. They are already part of the EU family,” Varhelyi announced on Twitter.
The leaders of the EU and the Balkan countries will meet today in Brussels, the European Council announced.
The summit will be an opportunity to confirm the European perspective of the Balkans, as well as the need for sustainable and irreversible achievements in the field of reforms based on EU values and principles.
