Budget of the RS for 2017 finally adopted

assembly rsNational Assembly of the RS last night by urgent procedure adopted  the budget of the RS for the coming year in the amount of 3.2 billion BAM, which is an increase by 2.3 % compared to the budget for this year.

The planned budget surplus is 67.1 million BAM, and it will be aimed at covering debts to domestic and foreign creditors for direct and indirect obligations of the RS and long-term loans from international financial institutions.

Total budget revenues and receipts of non-financial assets in 2017 amount to 2.591 billion BAM, which represents an increase of 102.1 million or 4.1 % compared to the funds planned in the budget for 2016.

For budget voted 46 deputies, while 25 were against it.

The Law on execution of the budget for the following year was adopted by urgent procedure, as well as the Program of economic reforms of the RS from 2017 to 2019, which envisages the strengthening of fiscal responsibility and continuation of the process of fiscal consolidation, which is aimed to reduce the public sector.

This program states that the aim is strengthening of support to the economy by reducing the tax burden and increase of competitiveness.

The Assembly adopted a set of amendments to the law on salaries by urgent procedure, which provides an increase of the base salary for each year of service by 0.3 % under 25 years, and 0,5 % every next year after 25.

They adopted amendments to the Law on salaries of employees in the administrative bodies of the RS, the Law on salaries of employees in the field of Education and Culture and the Law on salaries of employees in the institutions of justice of the RS.

Deputies adopted amendments to the Law on salaries of employees in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RS, the Law on salaries of employees in public institutions in the health sector of the RS and the Law on salaries of employees in the public service of the RS.
