eu_doorThis week Bugojno will host the “EU at Your Door” initiative, which offers citizens and young people an opportunity to learn more about the EU and to speak directly to EU officials about this country’s EU perspective.

The one-and-a-half day programme will start on Friday, 18 April with a debate at Bugojno Gymnasium. EUSR Political Advisor Lejla Ramic and EUSR Political Officer Tarik Duratbegovic will present a range of EU programmes designed for young people and lead a discussion with students on the prospects and likely impact of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s EU accession path.

On Saturday, 19 April, EU representatives will host “Coffee with the EU” at the Vienna Star cafe. In the afternoon, Lejla Ramic and Bugojno Mayor Hasan Ajkunic will host the EU Show at the Theatre of the Bugojno Culture and Sports Centre. The show will consist of a quiz and a talent contest, and performances by entertainers from outside Bugojno.

The countrywide information initiative “EU at Your Door” is being organised by the Office of the EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with 15 municipalities across the country. The aim of the programme is to raise awareness of the opportunities and challenges of EU accession, and to stress the shared values of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the EU.

After Bugojno the project will visit Srebrenik on 25-26 April.
