Bulgaria is the winner of the 70th edition of Eurovision Song Contest, which was held in Vienna’s Stadthalle arena.
Bulgaria won the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time with the song Bangaranga and its representative Dari.
25 countries competed for the microphone-shaped trophy, the title of the best song in Europe, including Serbia’s representative, the group “Lavina”, which won 17th place in the final ranking.
Israel came in second place, and Romania came in third.
Bulgaria’s best finish so far was in 2017, when Kristijan Kostov won second place in Kiev.
Bulgaria debuted at Eurovision in 2005, and over the years has gained a reputation as a country that often sends modern and competitive pop productions.
Bangaranga won the Contest with a 173-point lead over the song in second place, which makes it the biggest winning margin we’ve ever seen at the Eurovision Song Contest, beating the 169 lead that Alexander Rybak’s Fairytale won with at Moscow 2009.
In second place was Israel, with Michelle by Noam Bettan, while in third place we had another country that returned to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2026 – Romania, represented by Alexandra Căpitănescu and Choke Me.
Australia and Italy rounded out the Top 5, in fourth place and fifth place respectively.
