The Army formation for participation in the European Union operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Altea, was rated ‘combat ready’, the Ministry of Defense of Bulgaria announced.
The verification and evaluation of the combat capabilities of the formations was carried out from July 18 to 20 in the area of Karlovo and the Marino training ground of the 61st Mechanized Brigade by the Commission of the Joint Forces Command.
The main part of the contingent consisted of the 3rd mechanized battalion of the 61st mechanized brigade, reports BTA.
On that occasion, a tactical exercise was carried out with the implementation of force protection tasks, the construction of tactical-operational centers of the national element and the mechanized company.
Actions demonstrated included securing a site, conducting reconnaissance patrols in the area of responsibility and conducting a reconnaissance operation, conducting movement control, insurgency control, and escorting. The personnel showed high professionalism in carrying out their tasks and deservedly received the rating “combat ready”.
