Business Forum BiH-India in New Delhi

The Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Zlatko Lagumdžija delivered the keynote speech at at a business forum BiH-India “Doing Business with BiH” in New Delhi during his official visit to the country.

The BiH Foreign Trade Chamber, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Embassy of BiH to India in New Delhi organized the conference. Hundreds of business people from BiH and India participated in the forum.

At the business forum, whose host was the CII, the opportunities for investing in BiH economy were presented, as well as the advantages of commercial cooperation with our country and other issues tied to improving overall business cooperation between the two friendly countries were discussed.

Addressing the forum, Lagumdžija said that BiH is a country that offers numerous important opportunities for business. It is a country with a transitional economy with a liberal trade regime, a country that is open for foreign investment and a country that is becoming more attractive for foreign investment and trade. This demonstrates an important progress from the Forbes List in 2011.

As competitive sectors that could be interesting to Indian business people, Lagumdžija spoke of the following industries: Agriculture, food, automobile, metal, wood processing, construction, energy, infrastructure/transport networks, textile, tourism, IT/telecommunications and environmental protection.

At the end of the speech, Lagumdžija invited Indian financial institutions and Indian business people to visit BiH in order to gain more knowledge of the economic potential of our country, and to establish cooperation with BiH companies and to invest.

After the keynote speech, Lagumdžija participated in the signing of a Memorandum on understanding between the CCI and the BiH Foreign Trade Chamber.
