Although low temperatures are forecast for today, and they will be up to – 20 ºC in the mountains, the weather improvement is expected from Friday until mid-March.

According to the Federal Hydro-Meteorological Institute (FHMZ), tomorrow and Friday are expected very cold mornings with temperatures in Bosnia from – 17 ºC to -10 ºC with significant snowfall, while rainfall is expected in Herzegovina, and the air temperature there will be between – 7 ºC and – 1 ºC. However, daily temperatures will be above zero, and the highest daily temperature in Bosnia will be 1 ºC, and in Herzegovina up to 6 ºC.

Rainfall is expected on Saturday and Sunday as well, and thus the next week will be rainy, but with considerably higher daily temperatures. Morning temperatures in some parts of the country will be above zero.

“Somewhat lower temperatures are expected in Krajina at the beginning of next week, after which we expect a massive meltdown of the snow in this area, which is now higher than 80 cm in some parts,” stated Hadzismajlovic.

Warmer weather is expected until mid-March, after which we can expect a shorter period of somewhat colder weather, however, temperatures will not go below -10 ºC.
