top3 (1)For the first time after sixty years, a cannon shot from a hill Kicelj above Tuzla announced time for breaking fast in the Muslim’s holy month of Ramadan.

The cannon shot was followed with the calls for prayer from Tuzla’s mosques, lamps were turned on, and those who fasted completed the first day of Ramadan praying to Allah s.w.t with their family.

The honor to fire a cannonball was given to Amir Osmanović, the owner of the Neron pyrotechnics company.

“The feeling is really beautiful. Frankly, I did not expect all this media attention. From now on, the canon from Kicelj will announce the time for breaking fast every day, and I hope that we will continue with this practice next year and those that follow,” said Amir Osmanović.

From the Majlis of Islamic Community of Tuzla stated that is this year’s Ramadan novelty aiming to preserve the history and return tradition to Tuzla.

The Majlis of Islamic Community of Tuzla is planning a number of activities during the month of Ramadan, one of which is Quran citation for women that will be organized in Gazi Turali Beg’s mosque.

Iftar organized by the Istanbul municipality Bayrampasa, will be organized this Saturday at the Square of freedom and more than 1,600 meals will be given on this Ramadan evening.

The rich cultural program which will start at the Liberty Square at 8 pm is planned for the time before the breaking fast.
