The Government of Sarajevo Canton (CS) has given consent to the Ministry of Economy for the implementation of three extremely important projects in the Cantonal Public Enterprise “Poljoprivredno dobro Butmir”, the cantonal press service announced.

The first project is the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the roof surfaces of the buildings of this property, for which it is planned to allocate up to 960,000 BAM.

“Poljoprivredno dobro Butmir” will get one of the most modern farms in Bosnia and Herzegovina through the implementation of the project, which will reconstruct and restore the buildings built in 1980, which would provide better conditions for keeping livestock and give new possibilities for further modernization of the farm.

Budget money is planned for the realization of the project in 2023.

Another important project supported by the Cantonal Government is “Installation of sludge dewatering plant from waste water plant”, for the realization of which up to 140,000 BAM is provided.

“We would like to remind you that this company, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of CS, realized three important projects with the aim of organizing the wastewater discharge system, namely the one that related to the installation and commissioning of the wastewater treatment plant, then the connection to the city collector, and the last one, which related to the rehabilitation and backfilling of the channel that led waste water to the river Dobrinja,” the relevant ministry reminds.

As Minister of Economy Zlatko Mijatović explained, with the installation of a sludge dehydration plant, this company will complete the entire cycle, which will consist of the collection of waste water, through purification and separation of solid material, to the dehydration of sludge that would be used as artificial fuel.

“This opens up the possibility for the company to enter the market by selling synthetic fuels and generate another source of income,” stated Mijatović.

He also announced the conclusion of an agreement between the Ministry of Economy and “Agricultural Property Butmir” on the co-financing of this project.

The third important project for this company, but also for the economy of the Canton, is the installation of deposits in the production facilities of the Butmir Agricultural Estate, for which an investment of up to 100,000 BAM is planned.

In the past period, “Poljoprivredno dobro Butmir” failed to secure money for the installation of rubber beds that would improve the working conditions in the facilities, and therefore the health of the milking teats, which would ultimately increase milk production, the state of reproduction and the state of hoof diseases and thus, it would reduce veterinary costs.
