The Minister of the Interior of the Sarajevo Canton, Admir Katica, claims that in the political and security context, there is no operational knowledge about any kind of threat to the security of citizens.

Answering questions from members of the CS Assembly, Katica said that the security situation in this canton, in the field of public order and traffic safety, was declining in February and that the crime rate was decreasing, but that there were certain disturbing events.

Speaking about the process of procurement of helicopters, Katica said that they intended a little more than 17 million BAM for that purpose, that they formed a commission of 13 members that will deal with public procurement, but that he could not specify when that process will be completed.

In the Sarajevo Canton, there is a trend of decreasing the number of criminal acts, it is stated in the information on the state of crime, public order and peace and traffic safety for the month of January.

The Information of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of CS, presented at the session of the Government of CS, pointed out that during the past month, 314 events with a criminal offense were registered, which is 68 events less or 17.8 percent compared to the same month last year.

Minister Admir Katica pointed out that the decrease in the number of criminal offenses was mostly recorded in the area against property (robbery and aggravated theft) by 40 events, and that the Police Administration has undertaken significant activities in this area in the past, but they have intensified and in other fields.

The number of criminal offenses in the field of public order and legal transactions decreased (by six), human health (by five), while the increase was recorded in the area against life and body (by five events), and marriage, family and youth (by one event more).

During January and February in the area of our canton, crimes were committed that upset the citizens. We are aware of their concerns, but we tell them that the police are on the ground and that all necessary activities are being taken to prevent and investigate crimes, “said Minister Katica.
