Vogošća klix.baWarming of the facility of Health Center Vogošća and expansion of the facility of Health Center Ilijaš are projects that are nearing completion. Delegation of the Sarajevo Canton, consisting of the Prime Minister Elmedin Konaković, Minister of Health Zilha Ademaj, Minister of Utility Economy Senad Hasanspahić and Minister of Finance Jasmin Halebić, visited these health centers yesterday and learned more about the progress of these projects.

“For us, this is a very important project that is being implemented within the project of Energy Efficiency. Those are certainly quality moves, but not sufficient ones. It is evident that internal spaces need some work, dated equipment needs to be replaced with new equipment, especially in the field of treating mental health and physical therapy that is conducted here,” said Minister Ademaj, who also emphasized that roofs must be changed, as well. A request was made to make an overview of necessary works and pro forma invoices, so that some funds could be allocated for this purpose in the budget for the next year.

This project is implemented with the funds from the Sarajevo Canton and the UNDP and its total value is 300.000 BAM. The project includes replacement of external joinery, placement of thermal isolation on the external walls, and works on boiler rooms and heating devices.

Delegation of the Sarajevo Canton was welcomed in Vogošća by the Mayor of the Vogošća Municipality Edin Smajić, Director of the Public Institution Health Centers of the Sarajevo Canton Fuad Husić and officials of the Health Center Vogošća, who expressed satisfaction with the fact that the Sarajevo Canton recognized the need for investing in this facility and with the fact that better conditions for provision of health care will be available for around 30.000 patients who are treated in this center.

Accompanied by the Mayor of the Ilijaš Municipality Akif Fazlić, the delegation visited the construction site at the Health Center Ilijaš. Thanks to another two floors that will be built, the existing space will get another 500 square meters, where Center for Mental Health and Center for Physical Therapy will be situated. Funds amounting to 1.4 million BAM were provided by the Sarajevo Canton and the Municipality of Ilijaš.

“We took advantage of the opportunity to talk with the staff about current issues in health sector, how the organization of provision of health services is working on the field, where and how do they see the possible improvements, what are the reactions to the new essential list of medicines. We will continue monitoring the expressed needs of patients and employees in the health sector through our budgets,” said Prime Minister Konaković after visiting the construction sites in Vogošća and Ilijaš.
