automehanicarkaThe Institute for Youth Development KULT recently organized a campaign on occasion of orange day and the fight against violence on women and girls, which called on all those interested to make photographs that show the demolition of prejudices about gender established norms and the divisions of ‘male’ and ‘female’ occupations.

The photographs that descriptively speak about discrimination and division of labor were sent by Sanida Čajo from Sarajevo during the prize campaign an Arsen Vukotić from Gradiška, who were also the winners of the campaign. They validity was assessed by a commission composed of the USAID Mission and KULT.

‘’I photographed a girl in an auto mechanic shop, who works there as a car mechanic. There is nothing strange there. We are simply used to such images of our society’’, said Arsen Vukotić from Gradiška.

The winner of the award Sanida Čajo says with pride that in her household, there are no divisions, nor divisions of labor between male and female. Sanida is especially proud of her husband, whose relationship to her as a wife and mother is an example of equality in both the private and public life.

In B&H, 47,2 percent of women and girls who are older than 15 experience violence on a daily basis if they dare to mix ‘male’ and ‘female’ labor.

Orange Day-day against violence on women and girls is an initiative of global character that is implemented by the youth network UNiTE and is marked every 25th of the month.

The implementer of USAID’s program is KULT, which implements the activities of Orange Day.
