The cardiologists of the Bijeljina Hospital voluntarily decided to work double shifts in order to examine all patients on the waiting list, this health institution announced today. This decision remains in effect until further notice.
By the decision of the cardiologists employed at the hospital in Bijeljina, in the future, the internal medicine department will work double shifts in order to abolish the so-called waiting lists. About 500 cardiology patients are examined in this health facility every month, and doctors will work in shifts without financial compensation.
“No patient is currently waiting for an examination, anyone who wants to make an appointment can make it and be examined as early as tomorrow. We, who spent a little more time in some other segments of cardiology, decided to sacrifice ourselves for this part so that our fellow citizens could be examined and the more satisfied,” says the head of the Department of Internal Medicine, Aleksandar Janjičić.
In addition to internal medicine, waiting lists were abolished in other departments as well. Due to the increased number of patients, the hospital announces the opening of another angio room.
“The cardiologists and the management have decided to start purchasing another angio room, which I believe will be realized in the next few months”, says the director of JZU Sveti Vračevi Hospital Zlatko Maksimović.
