13652659_1230021997048754_204890996_nCaskets with the remains of the victims of the Srebrenica genocide, which will be buried today, were taken from the former Factory of Batteries in Potočari near Srebrenica to the musalla (prayer room) last night at 7 pm.

Caskets were carried by family members of the victims, participants in the marches and marathons, and many foreigners who expressed desire to touch the caskets and thus feel the pain of their loved ones.

The grieving river of hands dedicated to carrying 127 victims that will be buried this year extended between the Factory of Batteries and the musalla of the Memorial Center Potočari, where the caskets are to wait for the symbolic July 11.

Today, those present will have an opportunity to attend the commemoration, funeral and collective burial of identified victims of the genocide victims, 127 of them – 12 of whom are minors, in the Memorial Center Potočari.

Among the carried caskets is the one with the remains of the youngest victim – Avdija Memić, who was 14 years old. The oldest victim is Mustafa Hadžović, who was killed at the age of 77. Avdija’s remains will be escorted by his brother Emir and other members of his family. Remains of the 14-year-old boy whom Emir saw for the last time in the woods in 1995 are not complete; skull and some other bones are missing.
