To mark World Food Day and the Day of Bread, the Catholic School Center “Ivan Pavao II” in Bihać organized a humanitarian drive. Students and staff handed over fresh bread and pastries to the Regional Committee of Merhamet Bihać for their public kitchen. It was a clear gesture of care and solidarity toward the most vulnerable community members.
The school formally celebrated the Days of Bread and gratitude for the fruits of the earth. Through hard work and creativity, students, parents, and staff prepared various savory and sweet treats.
There was a strong humanitarian side to this year’s observance. All remaining food went directly to Merhamet Bihać to help feed public kitchen users.
Showing gratitude takes real action, not just words—a message the Catholic School Center highlighted throughout the day. They also put focus on togetherness, sharing, and helping those in need.
“May bread always remind us of gratitude for what we have, the importance of togetherness, and the readiness to share our gifts with others,” the educational institution stated, thanking all who participated in preparing and observing this day.
Representatives of RO Merhamet Bihać thanked them for the donation. They noted how much the support from students, teachers, and school administration means to them.
“We thank the Catholic School Center “Ivan Pavao II” –Bihać, its students, teachers, and administration for their support, understanding, and humanity. May such examples of kindness be an inspiration to us all, because good is returned with good,” stated RO Merhamet Bihać.
This gesture gave extra meaning to World Food Day and the Days of Bread. It served as a simple reminder that people prove humanity and solidarity through action, above all when supporting those who need help the most.
