cazin1Yesterday in Cazin, is signed a memorandum of understanding to implement the project “Vocational training and employment of carpenters and technicians for final processing of wood panels in the production of laminated wood and furniture for the company Al Dihani.”

Through the project realization about 100 young people should be employed in the up coming year at this wood-processing company.

The memorandum was signed by the USAID Mission in BiH, the Government of Una-Sana Canton (USK), Ministry of Education, the Federal Employment Service, the Employment Service of Canton, Municipality of Cazin, Secondary School “Safet Krupić” from Bosanska Krupa, the Canton Development Agency, Center for the Promotion of Local Development- PLOD and the company from Cazin, Al Dihani.

“We are very excited to be here today. The role of USAID is to enable for the government and private sectors to work together and to encourage economic development in the Canton,” said Steve Majors, Deputy Director of the USAID Mission in BiH.

“This is not the first project, we implement with USAID for this year, but it is already the fifth or the sixth. We are one of the key financial supporters, around 40 percent, however, is much more important, that these projects are run with the aim of strengthening the capacity of the unemployed people and for their adaptation to the labor market”, said Kenan Rešo, director of the Federal Employment Service.

The project is worth over 80,000 KM, and the Federal Bureau from that amount has provided 35.000 KM. The company Al Dihani is located in two places for the primary and for the final wood processing, meaning of the production of solid panels and furniture. It started with the production and now is adjusting customizing products for the demand of the European market.

“We have around15-20 people, who are directly trained by the Italians. Relying on them and on professional staff that we got thanks to the signing of this memorandum, we will be able to train the rest of the 75 people”, said Elvir Omerčević, the Director of Company “Al Dihani.”

The total investment is about 9 million KM, and the daily capacity is of 10 cubic meters of panels in one shift. All this is done with the help of partners from Kuwait, Mejwela Ayed Al-Daihani, which is now also present at the signing.

Implementation of this and similar training program, create the conditions for greater mobility and better employment of people, who are registered with the Employment Service.
