The Agency for the Protection of Personal Data in BiH will mark the European Day for the Protection of Personal Data on 28 January.

They will organize a press conference where they will present the report for the previous year.

Also, the Agency called students from the University of Sarajevo to visit the Agency for the event “Day of Open Doors”.

Invited students will attend lectures on protecting personal date in BiH.

The marking of the European Day for the Protection of Personal Data will be a chance to spread different activities on the protection of personal data and privacy, as well as to accept the rights and responsibilities in this regard.

One of the activities to mark the European Day of Protection of Personal Data was the implementation of state contests in secondary schools in BiH and writing literary works on themes of the protection of personal data and privacy.

The contest finished at the end of last year, and the three best works were chosen. The prizes for best works will be presented to students at the press conference.

This event will mark the annual Convention for the Protection of Individuals, with regard to an automatic processing of personal data of the Council of Europe, known as “Convention 108”, which is the foundation of European privacy and the protection of personal data.

The European Union and the Council of Europe places at the center of its activities to ensure effective protection of personal data, which is a prerequisite for the free flow of information.

It is necessary that the internationally agreed standards find a balance between security and privacy and also ensure the protection of personal data and support a free flow of information. This is necessary in today’s globalized world.
