“Census” again, but not for Everyone: Will they knock on Your Doors?

survey on energy consumptionThe twelfth consecutive Survey on Labor Force in BiH starts on Monday, the 10th of April, and it will last until the 23rd of April.

Interviewers of the survey were accredited by the Agency for Statistics of BiH, the Bureau of Statistics of FBiH and the Institute for Statistics of the RS will make the survey on 10,629 randomly selected households with a representative sample for this type of studies.

The aim and purpose of the Survey on Labor Force, in accordance with the methodological rules and principles of the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the recommendations of the European Statistical Office (EUROSTAT), are to obtain information about the basic work characteristics of the population in BiH and to assess the workforce.

“The data collected from this survey is used by statisticians in various fields of statistics, and institutional users of statistics that are engaged in the creation of employment policy. Therefore, it is important that citizens give the information to our accredited interviewers,” as announced by the Agency for Statistics of BiH.

The official statistical institutions of BiH guarantee citizens that the answers to these questions will be strictly confidential in accordance with the Law on Statistics of BiH and the Law on Protection of Personal Data and that respondents will remain anonymous. They urged citizens to cooperate in the realization of these important activities.

This statistical survey is part of the annual program of statistical institutions of BiH. They are planned to be implemented continuously from the next year, on a monthly basis, while the results will be published both quarterly and annually.

According to the estimates from the Survey on Labor Force, there was 801,000 employed and 273,000 unemployed in 2016. The employment rate amounted to 32.2 % last year and unemployment amounted to 25.4 %.
