The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CIKBiH) today adopted a decision on the determination and publication of the results of the early elections for the President of Republika Srpska, which will be published after 5:00 p.m.
Following the adoption of this decision, requests for a recount of ballots may be submitted within 72 hours of the publication of the decision, as well as objections to the accuracy of the published results within 24 hours.
During the discussion on this agenda item, CEC member Željko Bakalar said that the results of the early elections are being formally determined in order to open the possibility for political entities to submit requests for a recount of ballots.
In addition, an order was issued for a recount of ballots from polling stations in Laktaši, Doboj, Zvornik, Bratunac, Gacko and Bileća.
During the discussion on this agenda item, CEC member Irena Hadžiabdić said that this order was issued based on the preliminary findings of a graphologist who indicated forgery of signatures on the voter lists.
The recount will be carried out according to the dynamics determined by the Main Counting Center.
The CEC today made a decision to reject 1,021 ballots received by mail, because the Main Counting Center, after reviewing the voter kits, determined that 1,021 envelopes received by mail were not correct.
