The best interests of children, to which children have the right, obligate them to be provided with the necessary protection in the election campaign, which means that children are not used in the campaign to achieve the goals of adults, but that their needs are recognized in the programs of political parties.

The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina calls on political entities, candidates, the media and the public not to commit actions that lead to the violation of children’s rights during the election campaign.

Political entities should not invite children to political gatherings and other mass gatherings, and it is primarily the responsibility of parents not to take children to such gatherings and to protect them from unnecessary exposure.

The best interests of the child should be of primary importance in society, it is stated in the statement of the CEC of BiH.
