Central Mawlid Ceremony in Banja Luka and Sarajevo

mawlid According to the Regulation of the work of Riyaset, the Religious Affairs Directorate – Department for the dzemat (organizational unit), imam (religious community leader) and the development of religious life has informed B&H citizens and all faithful that according to Takvim (religious calendar) by the Riyaset of the Islamic community in B&H, the 12th of Rabi’ al-awwal, when the birthday of last prophet Muhamed pbuh is marked, is on Wednesday, the 23rd of December 2015.

Regarding this, the Standing Committee for Celebration of the central manifestations, which was appointed by Reis-ul-Ulema Husein ef. Kavazovic, made a decision at their meeting on the 19th of November 2015, that the Central Mawlid ceremony (marking of Prophet Muhamed pbuh birthday) for the territory of the Islamic community of B&H will be held on Tuesday, the 22nd of December 2015 after maghrib prayer at the Ferhadija mosque in Banja Luka, and on Wednesday, the 23rd of December 2015, after noon prayer in Gazi Husrev-bey Mosque in Sarajevo.

The program for the occasion will be performed by the choir of the Gazi Husrev-Bey Medresa (Religious high school) and choir of imams (religious community leader) of Majlis of Sarajevo. Presence of head of the Islamic Community in B&H, Reis-ul-Ulema Husein ef. Kavazovic, is expected at the ceremony in Banja Luka and Sarajevo.
