SONY DSCThe Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Vjekoslav Bevanda in Sarajevo met yesterday with the delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by the Head of Mission Ron van Rooden, and talked about the implementation of programs and structural reforms within the eighth review of the standby arrangement that precedes the decision of the Board of the IMF on payment of the ninth tranche in the amount of about 133 million BAM.

Chairman Bevanda thanked the IMF mission for their rapid response and aid provided in the alleviation of the consequences of catastrophic flooding in BiH, stated the Information Service of the Council of Ministers.

He informed the IMF delegation of the fact that the Council of Ministers immediately passed amendments to the Law on Budget of BiH which enabled provision of funds in the amount of 10 million BAM, collected through budgetary savings and contributions of employees for the afflicted population, to be transferred to the entity governments.

He stressed that he was dissatisfied with the dynamic of the distribution of aid to the endangered population of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Chairman Bevanda informed the IMF representatives about meeting the objectives of the platform outlined in the Letter of Intent dated from 11 September 2012 and the supplementary letter of intent which was agreed upon until 13 June 2014.

Head of the IMF Mission in BiH Van Rooden expressed satisfaction with the cooperation and congratulated the CoM for the professional attitude towards obligations, especially after the devastating floods.

He said that there are signs of recovery of the economy and noted the increase in collection of revenues, and the increase in volume of industrial production, which is why it is justified to expect positive results in terms of economic growth in this year.

They agreed that in the coming period, the work on structural reforms and the achievement of fiscal goals should be continued.

The meeting was attended by the IMF Resident Representative in BiH Ruben Atoyan.
